AUV - the Veterinary Co-operative

The commercial Co-operative AUV (Ad Usum Veterinarium) was founded by veterinarians for their colleagues in 1969. AUV, which is located in Cuijk / The Netherlands, is operated by more than 2300 veterinarians, as over 90% of Dutch veterinary practices are members. Its most important line of business is the wholesale of veterinary pharmaceuticals and practice equipment. Instruvet offers veterinary instruments as well as a wide range of first-class equipment and supplies for maximizing efficiency in daily practice work.

Eurovet Animal Health develops and manufactures a large selection of high-quality pharmaceuticals for veterinarians which are distributed in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany under its own label. Eurovet´s products are exported into more than 50 countries worldwide. In 2005, within the course of its commercial activities in Germany, it merged with Albrecht GmbH, one of the most well-known companies offering pharmaceuticals and instruments which delivers exclusively to veterinary practices.

The wholesaler Val D’Hony-Verdifarm in Beringen supply Belgian Pharmacies with pharmaceuticals and instruments for their veterinary clientele.

Consultants of AUV Advice in Holland provide guidance for their members on issues such as practice management, methods of increasing practice profitability, personnel management and remodeling practice buildings or designing new practice facilities.

In 2006 AUV, together with a large insurance corporation, founded the Initiative Petplan, a health insurance company for dogs, cats and rabbits.

Net result: By supplying high-quality medicines, instruments and supportive expertise, the Veterinary Co-operative AUV is dedicated to providing continuous support to its veterinary clientele and to veterinary students.
